Electricity is in the air!

It's been quite some time since I've been in a band, and I've always been the singer (who puts on the acoustic guitar for a song here and there). And as far as my acoustic playing, it's mostly chords, with a few songs where I get a bit more intricate.

Recently, I started jamming with an old friend, and he wants to put together a band. We got together a time or two with my acoustic, and him playing electric, and it was OK, but our choices were limited. Well, my friend asked me if I had an electric, and I did have one I was holding for another friend. We started playing, and I started getting more interested in playing the electric for a while.

Then I did it: I went out, and invested in a guitar rig, and a new electric guitar. I bought myself an Ibanez RG3EX1, beautiful guitar, red quilted finish... Then, to top it off, I bought a Line 6 HD150 with a Line 6 cabinet.

I'm learning how to play some songs, slowly but surely. Having a bit of a time with singing and playing some of the guitar at the same time, but with practice, this should be easier.

I really want to start from scratch - learn music theory, learn scales, modes, all that stuff. But my time is limited. I bought some books, and will attack those when I have free time.

Harmonious Existence

Welcome to my first blog post.

I want to talk about the DigiTech Vocalist Live 4.
This thing is incredible. I can have up to 3 and 4 part harmonies with my own voice. I can make my vocals sound huge without lots of fiddling or hiring backup singers!

Love it!
